Genuine MAN air distributor pipe for the D2842 LE443, at 890 mm and just under 6 kg the largest single-piece pipe listed for that engine. Charge-air pipework runs warm and under pressure, so its joints are a standing leak path: air escaping after the turbocharger is work already done and thrown away. A boost leak on a marine engine usually shows first as black smoke under load, before any gauge reports anything unusual.
