Marine engine part brands
Parts are filed under the maker of the engine or gearbox they belong to: MAN and Volvo Penta engines, ZF marine gearboxes, and Bosch injection equipment.
How the brand pages are arranged
The pages differ because the catalogues do. MAN has by far the most engines here, so its page opens with the engine series (D2866, D2842, D0836 and so on) and each series page lists the exact designations. Volvo Penta has few enough engines to list them by model straight away. ZF and Bosch have no engines of their own on this site, so their pages list parts; ZF parts are also grouped by gearbox family in the transmissions section.
The shortest route is the engine plate. With the full designation you open that engine's catalogue and see only the parts recorded for it. With a part number you can skip the brand pages altogether: the search finds a number across every brand, and an old number that has been replaced leads to the part that replaced it.
