MAN engine families in this catalogue

The catalogue follows MAN's engine families. The D08 engines (D0824, D0826, D0834, D0836) have a 108 mm bore and four or six cylinders. The D28 family shares a 128 mm bore: the in-line sixes D2866 and D2876, the V8 D2848, V10 D2840 and V12 D2842 with a 142 mm stroke, and the longer-stroke common-rail V12 D2862 and V8 D2868. The D2676 is a 12.4-litre in-line six with common-rail injection. Engines whose name starts with E are the gas versions, built for combined heat and power.

Within one series the part lists split sharply. A D2842 can be a marine propulsion engine, a generator-set engine or an industrial engine, and over the life of the D28 range the injection changed from Bosch in-line pumps to common rail with electronic control. So every MAN part here is matched to the full designation, for example D2842 LE410 rather than D2842, and the series pages list designations rather than parts.

If the old part is in hand, its MAN number (in the form 51.06500-6526) finds it directly, whichever engine it came from.
