Genuine MAN exhaust elbow for the right bank of the D2840 LE301. Where an engine sits low relative to the waterline, the exhaust system depends on a siphon break to stop water finding its way back into the engine when it stops. That device is part of the same failure story as the elbow: a siphon break that has become blocked with salt is as capable of filling a cylinder as a corroded elbow is. Check it whenever elbow work is done.
