About this part
Genuine MAN exhaust manifold seal in the asbestos-free specification, for the D2840 LE301. Exhaust joints live through the widest temperature swing on the engine, going from ambient to exhaust temperature and back every time it runs, and the seal has to accommodate the different rates at which the head and the manifold expand. That is why these seals are always renewed every time; reuse is not an option: they take a permanent set at their first heat cycle, and a seal that has already done that cannot follow the movement a second time.
