Genuine MAN crankshaft assembly for the D2840 V10, supplied with Bureau Veritas inspection. For a vessel in class, that distinction is not a marketing line: classification societies require proof of origin, material certification and traceability for parts going into a main engine, and a component that cannot produce that paperwork is the kind of thing that surfaces at survey rather than at installation. BV inspection means the individual item has been examined against the society's requirements, so the certification follows the part. Mechanically it is the same crankshaft as the standard D2840 unit — journals reground to a defined undersize with matching oversize shells when they are scored, and condemned outright if fatigue cracking is found. If the vessel is not in class, the standard uninspected number does the same job.
