Genuine MAN main bearing shells in the normal size with a 0.10 mm step, for the D2840 LE301. Main cap bolts are a torque-critical joint and on many engines are tightened into their yield range, which stretches them permanently. Where MAN specifies replacement, a reused bolt may not produce the clamp load that holds the cap in position — and a main cap that moves under load destroys the bearing and frequently the journal with it.
