Genuine MAN fan pulley for the D2848 LE422. On installations with an engine-driven fan — more common on keel-cooled and radiator-cooled marine applications than on heat-exchanger ones — the fan pulley drives a substantial rotating mass, and its bearing works continuously. A fan pulley bearing failing at speed is a serious event, since the fan is close to the belt drive and to whatever else is at the front of the engine.
