Genuine MAN two-groove V-belt pulley for the alternator on the D2840 LE301 and related builds. Where an alternator has been replaced during the engine's life, its pulley may have come with it — and a pulley of a different diameter changes the charging characteristic without anybody recording that it happened. Where charging behaviour has changed inexplicably, the pulley on a replacement alternator is worth measuring. Measuring the fitted pulley and comparing it against the catalogue figure settles whether the charging characteristic is original.
