About this part
Genuine MAN commutator end shield for the D2842 LE443, replaced by 51.26207-0006. The end shield closes the commutator end of a starter motor, carries the brush gear and supports the rear of the armature shaft. It is therefore both a structural part and an electrical one, and damage to it — a cracked casting, a worn bearing seat, a burnt brush holder — usually ends a rebuild. Inspect it before ordering any other starter parts.
