Genuine MAN cable harness covering connectors X6 and X15 on the D2862 LE463 and related builds. Harnesses age by two mechanisms that act together: insulation hardens with heat and loses flexibility, and the conductors inside work-harden with vibration. Neither is visible externally. An engine that has run for decades in a hot engine room has a harness at the end of its design life whether or not it has yet produced a fault.
