A slender spacer, long in proportion to its diameter. A thin long spacer is effectively a distance sleeve over a bolt, and it relies on the bolt for its stability rather than on its own section. A bent distance sleeve is replaced rather than straightened. A slender spacer is easy to bend during handling and easy to miss afterwards.
