Genuine MAN coolant pump for the D2840 LE301, D2842 LE443 and D2848 LE422. Coolant quality determines pump life more than hours do. The inhibitor package in the specified coolant protects the pump's internals from cavitation erosion and corrosion, and it is consumed over time rather than lasting indefinitely — so a circuit topped up with water, or run years beyond the coolant's service life, attacks the impeller and the seal faces directly. Cavitation damage in particular looks like corrosion but is caused by vapour bubbles collapsing against metal, and correct coolant concentration and system pressure are what suppress it. A refractometer and an inhibitor test strip cost very little and turn coolant condition from an assumption into a reading.
