About this part
Genuine MAN thermostat seal, 67.5 x 57.7 x 6.4 mm, for the cooling water thermostat on the D2840 LE301 and D2842 LE443. Thermostat housings are a common source of a slow coolant leak that appears only when the system is hot and pressurised, and the seal is invariably renewed when a thermostat is changed and never reused. The dimensions given are worth checking against what comes out: MAN lists more than one seal of very similar size for these engines, and a fraction of a millimetre in section decides whether the joint seals.
