Genuine MAN cast coolant elbow, nearly cubic in its overall shape, which indicates a tight bend rather than a sweeping one. A tight bend is a greater restriction and a harsher place for the flow, both of which matter more at the pump than further out. Substituting a sweeping bend for a tight one changes the circuit as well as the fit.
