Genuine MAN flexible impeller for a raw water pump. The elastomer matters as much as the shape: raw water pump impellers are compounded for continuous immersion in sea water and for the temperature the pump reaches, and a generic rubber rotor of the same dimensions will harden and crack far sooner. Where a vessel lies unused for long periods, removing the impeller over winter avoids the permanent set that standing produces.
