Genuine MAN timing case assembly for the D2842 LE443 and D2848 LE422. Supplied as an assembly, which normally means the case arrives with its seals and any pre-fitted components in place — removing the operations most likely to introduce a leak, since the crankshaft front seal has to be pressed in square and to the correct depth. A seal fitted at an angle or too deep leaks from the day the engine runs, and correcting it means taking the case off again. Where the alternative is fitting a seal into a bare case without the proper installer, the assembly is usually the better purchase. Where a bare case is being fitted instead, the correct seal installer is worth borrowing rather than improvising around.
