About the MAN D2876 LE402

MAN's medium-duty data sheet gives the LE402 412 kW (560 hp) at 2,100 rpm, four valves per cylinder and electronic injection control. Medium duty means up to 3,000 hours a year, with no more than half of that time at full load.

The marine D2876 LE401 to LE407 share one list, although MAN rates them for different work: the LE402 is a medium-duty engine of 412 kW at 2,100 rpm, the LE403, LE406 and LE407 heavy-duty versions of 280 to 360 kW at 1,800 rpm. The LE401 and LE404 have the MMDS monitoring and diagnostic system as standard. EDC control units (51.11615-7183, -7201), diagnostic units, relays and harnesses fill the electrical side, one harness being for a ZF550/665 gearbox.

Cooling is by heat exchanger (assemblies 51.06101-7161, -7162 and -7173) with tube bundle 51.06109-0041 and raw water pump 51.06500-7026 or -6607. MAN gives the LE402 four valves per cylinder and the heavy-duty versions two, so match cylinder heads and valve parts to the engine, not just to this list.
