Genuine MAN carrier for the electronic control unit on the D2842 LE443 and D2848 LE422. A control unit carrier is more than a bracket: it positions the unit where vibration and heat are tolerable, and on many installations it provides the thermal path that keeps the electronics within their working range. Mounting a control unit on an improvised bracket, or leaving it hanging on its harness after the original carrier has corroded, exposes it to exactly the vibration and heat it was positioned to avoid — and produces failures that are attributed to the unit rather than to its mounting. Renew a corroded carrier rather than working around it. Corroded carriers are also easy to overlook precisely because the unit they hold is still working at the time of inspection.
