Genuine MAN regulator for the D2862 LE463, D2842 LE443 and D2848 LE422, replaced by 51.11610-6040. Governor faults are easy to misread as fuel faults: hunting, a slow return to idle and an inability to hold speed under changing load all look like fuel delivery problems from the helm. The distinction usually comes from whether the behaviour changes with load or with temperature. Confirm fuel pressure and filter condition first, since those are the cheaper checks and rule out the commoner cause.
