Genuine MAN check valve for the D2842 LE443 and D2848 LE422. A check valve passes fluid one way and blocks the return, which on a fuel or vent line stops backflow; it regulates neither pressure nor flow rate, and expecting it to do so leads to the wrong component being blamed. It is also directional, obviously enough, yet a check valve fitted the wrong way round is a recurring fault — mark the flow direction before removing the old one.
