Genuine MAN water trap parts kit for the D2842 LE443. Water in marine diesel is normal rather than exceptional — tanks breathe and condense, and bunkered fuel brings its own — so the separator is a component in continuous use, not a safeguard against rare events. Draining it is a daily check on a working boat, and the parts that make that possible are consumables. A trap that has been left undrained long enough will have corroded above the water line as well as below it.
