Genuine MAN fuel filter for the D2842 LE443. Filling a new filter with clean fuel before fitting is common practice and worth a caution: on the clean side of the system it saves bleeding, but fuel poured into a filter from a can introduces whatever is in the can. Where it is done, the fuel should come from a clean, closed container rather than the one used for topping up a dinghy outboard — which sounds obvious and is a regular source of injection system contamination.
