Genuine MAN lift pump for the fuel prefilter installation on the D2862 LE463, LE422 and D2868 LE433. Where a lift pump is integrated with the prefilter assembly, servicing the two together is usually the sensible approach, since access is shared and both are consumable in their different ways. The pump's job is to draw fuel through the filter, which means a blocked filter loads the pump — so a pump that has failed on an installation with a neglected prefilter has probably been working against a restriction for some time. Renew the element and establish that flow is clear before fitting the replacement pump. Establishing flow through the filter before fitting the new pump prevents the replacement from starting its life working against the same restriction.
