About this part

Genuine MAN turbocharger seal for the D2842 LE443. Flange fasteners at a turbocharger work at temperatures that relax ordinary fasteners over time, which is why high-temperature alloy studs are specified in these positions and why they should not be substituted with standard hardware. A stud that has lost clamp load at temperature allows the joint to move microscopically, and the seal is then being asked to accommodate movement rather than simply to fill a gap.
