Genuine MAN injector for the D-Series marine diesels. Fuel cleanliness matters more to an injector than to almost anything else on the engine, and the reason is upstream: the high-pressure pump's internals are lubricated by the fuel passing through them, so water or particulate contamination wears the pump first and then sends the metal it sheds downstream at full injection pressure. By the time injectors are damaged that way, the pump usually needs attention too, and replacing injectors alone leaves the source in place. Where several injectors fail together on an engine with no other explanation, the fuel system as a whole is the suspect rather than the injectors. Check the water trap and prefilter, and establish how long the tank has stood, before ordering replacements.
