Genuine MAN injector for the D2862 LE463 and D2868 LE433. On engines of this generation the injector is electrically controlled, not purely mechanical, which means its behaviour depends on the engine control unit and its wiring as much as on its own condition. A fault code naming a specific injector names a circuit, not a component: the harness, its connector and the pins inside are in that circuit, and connector corrosion in an engine room is at least as common as a failed solenoid. Measure the coil resistance at the injector and again at the ECU connector before ordering — a difference between the two readings locates the fault in the harness and clears the injector. Doing that measurement before ordering costs nothing and regularly saves the price of the component.
