Genuine MAN nozzle holder combination for the D-Series marine diesels. Removing one from a cylinder head that has been in service for years is the part of the job worth planning for: carbon builds where the nozzle passes through the head and effectively glues the assembly in place, and levering on the body to free it bends the holder. Proprietary extractors exist for exactly this reason. The related caution is what falls into the cylinder — the old copper washer sometimes stays behind in the bore, and an engine turned over with a washer sitting on a piston crown does real damage. Account for the washer as the injector comes out — count them out and count them back in, in that order.
