Genuine MAN oil pump for the D2862 LE463 and LE422, specified with a 1.48 drive ratio and 34 mm gear width. Both figures describe delivery: the ratio sets how fast the pump turns relative to the crankshaft, and the gear width sets how much oil each revolution moves. An engine's oil demand is a function of its bearing count, its clearances and whether it feeds piston cooling jets, and MAN matches pump capacity to that demand rather than fitting one pump across a family. The practical consequence is that a pump of the right physical fit but the wrong specification will run and will deliver the wrong volume. Match both figures when cross-referencing ; relying on the engine designation will not do designation alone.
