About this part

Genuine MAN seal for the intake pipe and air distributor cover on the D2842 LE443 and D2848 LE422. Leaks on the intake side of a turbocharged engine are a different problem from exhaust leaks: they admit unfiltered air rather than releasing gas, and everything that enters there goes straight into the cylinders. On a marine installation an intake leak also admits engine room air, which is warmer and dirtier than what the filter was drawing. Neither produces an obvious symptom until wear appears.
