About this part
Genuine MAN oil sump seal for the D2848 LE422. Sump joints leak more often from preparation than from the seal: the flange faces have to be clean and flat, old sealant removed completely without gouging the aluminium, and the fasteners tightened evenly in sequence rather than around the perimeter in order. A sump tightened progressively from one end bows its flange, and the leak that follows appears at the opposite corner and resists every attempt to cure it by tightening.
