Genuine MAN turbocharger seal for the D2842 LE443. The joint between manifold and turbocharger carries the full exhaust flow at the highest temperature anywhere on the engine, and a leak here costs boost as well as making noise — gas escaping before the turbine is gas that does no work. An engine down on power with a normal-sounding turbocharger is occasionally reporting exactly this, and the joint is worth inspecting before the turbocharger itself is suspected.
