Genuine MAN camshaft for the D2840 LE100, LE200, LE400, LE2 and LE30 build ranges, the V10. New camshafts and new followers need a running-in period that modern engine practice has largely forgotten, because the mating surfaces establish their contact pattern during the first hours of operation. Follow MAN's commissioning schedule rather than loading the engine immediately, keep the first oil change short, and avoid prolonged idling in the early hours, since low-speed running reduces the oil throw that reaches the cam and followers. An engine bedded in properly will run its valvetrain for decades; one loaded hard from cold on its first day can establish wear patterns in an afternoon that no amount of later care will undo. Record the commissioning hours in the engine log, since the bedding-in period is the one part of a camshaft's life that cannot be revisited.
