About this part
Genuine MAN water-cooled exhaust elbow for the D2866 LE401. The elbow is where raw water enters the exhaust: gas leaves the turbocharger dry and hot, water is injected just downstream, and everything beyond that point is wet exhaust at a temperature a rubber hose can survive. That makes the elbow the boundary between two quite different environments, and it is the component that fails because of it — hot gas on one side, seawater on the other, across a wall a few millimetres thick.
