About this part
Genuine MAN intercooler for the D2862 and D2676. Where a cooler is being replaced after an engine failure that put debris into the charge air path — a turbocharger compressor wheel that broke up, for instance — cleaning the ducting is not optional. Debris lodged in the cooler's passages or in the ducting downstream will be delivered into the cylinders when the engine next runs, and the damage that follows is attributed to the new turbocharger rather than to what was left behind. Flush the cooler through and inspect every section of ducting between the turbocharger and the inlet manifold before commissioning. A magnet and a good torch through the ducting will find more than an inspection of the cooler alone, and both are already to hand.
