About this part
Genuine MAN small-end bush for the D2866 E, in the Glyco specification. The bush is the plain bearing the gudgeon pin turns in, and it is deliberately the softer component in the pairing so that it wears in place of the pin or the rod eye — the same sacrificial logic that applies to bearing shells at the big end. Glyco is the bearing manufacturer, and where MAN lists a specific maker's version it is worth matching exactly: overlay material and wall thickness are part of the specification, not interchangeable details. Fitting requires pressing in and reaming to size in line with the big end, which is bench work and cannot be done in situ. Reaming in line with the big end is what keeps the piston square in its bore, and it is not a job for a hand reamer in a vice.
