Genuine MAN carbon brush set for the D2842 LE443, listed at 75 x 15 x 5 mm. Brush sets are supplied as sets for a reason: brushes bed to the surface they run on, and a single new brush working alongside worn ones carries an unequal share of the current. Replace the whole set, clean the slip rings or commutator while the machine is open, and check the brush springs — a spring that has been annealed by heat will not press a new brush any harder than it pressed the old one.
