Genuine MAN suppression condenser for the D2842 LE443, 24 grams. Its job is to absorb the electrical noise a charging machine generates so that it does not reach the vessel's radio equipment. On a boat that matters more than on a vehicle: interference on VHF or on a navigation receiver is a safety issue, not an annoyance, and a missing or failed suppressor is a common cause. Where interference appears after a repair, check first that the suppressor was refitted at all.
