About this part
Genuine MAN coolant pump for the D2862 LE463, LE422 and D2868 LE433. Refilling and bleeding after a pump change is where cooling problems get created: air trapped at a high point does not circulate, produces a hot spot, and can cause overheating on an engine whose components are all sound. Fill slowly, use the bleed points provided, run the engine up to temperature and check the level again once it has cooled — it almost always drops as remaining air works out. Where a pump has been changed and the engine overheats afterwards, air is the first candidate rather than the new pump. Running the engine with the filler cap off until the thermostat opens, where the installation allows it, lets trapped air escape rather than circulate.
