Genuine MAN drive gear with 51 teeth for the D2866 E, superseded by 51.11301-0265. The part group places it on the injection side of the engine, where the gear train drives the injection pump. Timing on a mechanically injected engine is set by how this gear sits relative to the crankshaft, so a gear disturbed without marking its position turns a component change into a retiming job — one that needs the workshop figures and a way of barring the engine over.
