Genuine MAN fuel line with soldered joints for the D2866 E. The soldered construction is worth knowing about before any repair is attempted: the joints are made under controlled heat at manufacture, and a joint re-made with a torch in an engine bay rarely reaches the same strength. On a line carrying diesel in an enclosed space that is a poor trade against the cost of the part. Where a soldered joint has failed, the honest answer is replacement , short of repair — and it is worth establishing why it failed, since vibration from an unsupported run is the usual cause.
