Genuine MAN high-pressure injection line for cylinder 1 of the D2866 E, in the hydraulically pre-compressed specification. The term describes a manufacturing process: the tube is pressurised beyond its working pressure during production, which leaves the bore surface in compression once the pressure is released. A bore that starts in compression survives millions of injection pulses without fatigue cracking. It is also why these lines cannot be made up locally from ordinary tube, whatever the dimensions suggest.
