Genuine MAN exhaust temperature gauge for the D2862 LE463, reading 100 to 900 degrees Celsius. Exhaust temperature is the most informative single reading on a working diesel, and what matters is less the absolute figure than the spread between cylinders: one cylinder running consistently hotter than its neighbours points at that cylinder's injector, valve or seat long before anything else reports a fault. Fit the gauge specified rather than a general-purpose pyrometer, whose scale will not match the panel.
