Genuine MAN twin oil filter with change-over for the D2840 LE301. Where an installation has the change-over facility, it is worth knowing how to operate it before it is needed rather than reading the lever position for the first time in a seaway. The valve isolates one side; operating it while the engine runs is the designed procedure rather than an improvisation. It is also worth confirming the valve still moves freely at each service, since one that has seized in service defeats the whole arrangement.
