Genuine MAN turbocharger seal for the D2866 E. Seals at the oil connections of a turbocharger deserve particular attention: the feed carries oil at engine pressure and the drain relies on gravity, so a leak at the feed sprays and a leak at the drain seeps. Both matter, and the drain matters more than it appears — a restricted or poorly sealed drain pressurises the bearing housing and pushes oil past the internal seals, which presents as blue smoke and is blamed on the turbocharger.
