Genuine MAN camshaft for the D2866 LE201 to LE203 and LE211 builds. Getting the timing right at reassembly is where the job is won or lost, and on an engine where the camshaft also drives the injection pump there are two sets of marks to respect , and not one. The valve timing is set by the relationship between crankshaft and camshaft gears, and the injection timing by the pump drive — and an error of one tooth in either is enough to produce an engine that runs badly or does not start, without anything being mechanically damaged. Mark everything before dismantling, in addition to relying on the factory marks, which can be difficult to read on a shaft that has spent decades in a marine engine room.
