Genuine MAN camshaft assembly for the D2842 LE443, supplied without the injection timer. The timer — the timing device on the drive end that advances injection as engine speed rises — is listed separately here, which matters in two directions when ordering. If the existing timer is serviceable it can be transferred, and buying the assembly without one avoids paying twice. If it is not, it has to be ordered alongside, and discovering that after delivery costs another wait. The timer is a wearing component in its own right: internal wear lets advance drift from specification, which shows up as smoke, a change in starting behaviour or a loss of top-end power, and is easy to attribute to injectors. Have it assessed and never assumed.
