About this part
Genuine MAN intercooler for the D2840 and D2842. Charge air ducting deserves as much attention as the cooler itself when boost problems are investigated, because a split hose or a loose clamp produces precisely the same symptoms as a leaking cooler at a fraction of the cost. Hoses on the charge air side work hot, under pressure, and often close to vibrating components, and they fail from the inside where inspection does not reach. Pressure-test the complete charge air system rather than the cooler alone, and replace clamps that have been disturbed repeatedly rather than retightening them for a fourth time. Charge air hoses are also among the parts most often replaced with something approximately similar, which is worth checking on a boat with unknown service history.
