Genuine MAN small-end bush for the D2866 E. Small-end wear is one of the few engine conditions whose noise is genuinely diagnostic: a worn bush produces a sharp double knock that is loudest at light load and low speed and tends to fade as load increases, which is the opposite of the behaviour a worn big-end bearing shows. That distinction is worth knowing because it separates a repair confined to the rods from one that involves the crankshaft. Confirm by measurement; the ear is unreliable here before committing — pin-to-bush clearance against specification is the figure that settles it, and the pin itself should be checked for wear at the same time since it is the harder half of the pair but not immune.
