Genuine MAN main bearing shells at the third repair stage, 0.75 mm undersize, for the D2866 LE401 and D2866 E. Shells at this stage are correspondingly thicker, since the housing bore in the block is unchanged and all the compensation comes from the shell. That is the whole mechanism of the repair-stage system, and it is why a shell of the wrong stage produces either a seized bearing or a slack one — with no middle ground.
